Beadles Lumber Company

History

Back in the late 1930's Clarence V. Beadles worked at a small planer mill in Coffeeville, Mississippi.  When the owner reached retirement age, Clarence purchased the mill.  Situated in rolling hills of Northern Mississippi, Clarence decided that the timber resources were better farther south.  So he move his mill and a good part of the town to Toomsuba, Mississippi, outside of Meridian.  There they operated the mill for several years.

Hopes of better timber moved the mill again in 1948 to its present location of Moultrie, Georgia.  At the time, his son C. Victor Beadles was twelve.  After graduating from Georgia Tech, Victor moved back to Moultrie to take over the mill.

Since that time, Beadles Lumber Company has seen expansion after expansion in order to achieve greater recovery and to achieve a consistent quality.  In 1993, Victor's son Bryant Beadles left the wood-based panel business to join Beadles Lumber Company.   In March 2001, Victor and Bryant purchased controlling interest in Balfour Lumber Company of Thomasville, Georgia.  Bryant now spends a majority of his time there as President and serves on the Executive Board of the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association.

New technologies in lumber manufacturing continue to be introduced at Beadles Lumber Company.  For three generations, Beadles Lumber will always be focused on manufacturing superior lumber and backing it with exceptional service.
